A Samhain Story (audio)

Samhain is deeply special to my heart. It is a soulful feast to me, rich in lore, dark tales, and ancient haunts. This season of sacred dark feels like home to me, to be at one with the eternal spirits of those witches and ancestors who have gone before me, their tortures and pains as well as their bravery, artistry, and clairvoyance. November Eve lights a fire in me which burns for months through the cold depths of winter. Here I share with you a reading about the ancient traditions of Samhain as celebrated and honored in Wiccan tradition. I so hope you enjoy it. In this recording, I am reading from the book Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner, by Scott Cunningham. I take time on this night every year to dedicate myself to shadow work. Shadows which mourn many losses and fears. And shadows which reach trembling toward the warmth of guiding light.

        1. πŸπŸ•―πŸ‚ Mmmm yes, you can feel it in the air…. in the beautiful spook of late night whispers, candles flickering deep in the woods… I don’t know what it is but something on this Eve always feels so powerfully, intimately feminine to me…. πŸ’‹πŸ’€πŸŒΉπŸ¦‡β™₯️🍁

Ah, I love everything about this post, Allison. I share an inexplicably special bond with all things November, and sacred, and otherworldly too, perhaps because I always start November with my birthday. There’s something that shifts, an energy that descends and envelops one wholly. I’m so interested to know about your shadow work! It’s such a great way to release that which doesn’t serve us. I was introduced to wiccan culture when I first began to truly explore the psychic realm, so this reading was such a wholesome treat to me. Indeed, this was a “my kinda” post. Hope you enjoy this beautiful season!
